What We Believe...

Since the first day of classes in 1967, the students and faculty of Spring Forest Middle School have been committed to “being the best we can be”. At “The Forest”, our philosophy “holds the welfare of the child as its guiding principle in the operation of this school district”.

The practical application of this philosophy includes opportunities which are provided within the students educational day, in order to help the student develop to the fullest of his or her capabilities. Such opportunities, as outlined by the school board of SBISD include, but are not limited to such things as: fundamental skills, the ability to communicate ideas, moral and ethical values, physical, mental and emotional health, skills for effective participation in the democratic process, an appreciation of the students role in the family and civic groups, appreciation of the arts, wise use of leisure time, development of intellectual skills, the ability to think effectively and to make decisions based on logic, and a zeal for continuous learning, quest and inquiry and self-improvement.

Our Mission Statement, which encompasses our purpose is:

SFMS is dedicated to the development and education of each student so that academic, social and leadership standards may be achieved ensuring the fulfillment of his/her aspirations and contribution to society.

To that end, we encourage parental and community involvement in student programs. We encourage input and creative ideas so student’s can achieve their full potential. The faculty and parents are thankful for the opportunity to realize our combined intentions to create a remarkable educational event in our students’ lives.
