Hi,

My name is Tracey Gonzales and I am a graduate of Texas Tech University, with a degree in Food and Nutrition. I teach SKILL FOR LIVING, TEEN LEADERSHIP and CAREER INVESTIGATIONS.

I have a very active classroom environment with students learning different things considered to be "Skills for Living". Most students still refer to it as Home Ec.�

This semester we start by learning to handle money. We will practice writing checks and open up checking accounts. They student will also have opportunities to make deposits with "Bobcat Dollars".

Soon we will get into our cooking lessons. The students are already excited and ask me everyday when will they get to cook.

2 consumer magazines (new is not necessary)
Roll of paper towels
$5.00 Lab fee

For our final exam the students will be tested over kitchen procedures they have learned all semester as well as their etiquette. Students will cook a full meal as a class and sit down to eat, using all proper procedures and table manners. They will be graded on how they work as a class as well as how they perform individually, all without my help. I will watch and observe them for the day. This was a great success last semster and the kids really impressed me with how hard they worked to cook, eat, clean and be respectful all in an hour and half.
